It’s All About Hair – Start Your Spring Makeover
Posted By admin on March 31, 2010
With spring just getting started, we tend to think about spring cleaning. I clean out my closets, wash the carpet, we change our furnace filters and so on. But what do we do for ourselves? We tend to forget ourselves during this time and it starts to show.
Spring is a time for new beginnings, trees are budding and flowers are getting ready to bloom. Why not you?
Here a few tips to get you going.
- Get rid of all makeup that is older than three months. With winter ending, its time to change our color palette.
- Look through your hair tie collection. Toss all hair bands that have tears or pulls in the elastic. (cut them before throwing out) If you wear barrettes check them for pealing paint or bent pieces. Anything questionable find another use for it but don’t use in your hair. Nothing worse than broken off pieces off hair…
- Remember your hat. It is important to use a sunscreen on your skin but don’t forget about your hair. Find a good shampoo and leave in conditioner that has some UV protection in it. Follow your nose in choosing this product. If it smells good, go for it.
- Examine your hair brush and combs. If they are broken or the rubber tips are missing get rid of them. Donate to an animal shelter.
- Look at products under the sink or hidden in a closet. If you are not using them rinse them out and recycle the bottles. Do not use on your pet.
- Now it’s time to leave the house. I highly suggest a professional haircut, commit to no less than an inch for that longer hair.
- A deep conditioning treatment is a must. Get rid of the dull and dry winter hair.
- Think about hair highlighting or color for a fresh look. I like Keune and Goldwell products. Enjoy a new spring look.
- Have a chemical hair straightening done. My recommendation is Bio Ionic. You don’t have to go from long to short. Enhance your own beauty.
- My favorite – go shopping! Try and stay to a three product rule.
- Hair – Shampoo, leave in conditioner and styling product
- Skin – Cleanser, day and night cream with protection
- Makeup – Mascara, foundation with protection and blush
Spring is the time for new beginnings. Keep it simple for starters, you can always add as needed.

Great tips! Definitely something worth trying this spring!
